tracking down happiness...and lots of interesting stories!

It's all about connection. After all, everything is connected, isn't it? We are connected to each other, to the natural world all around us, and to the mysterious, supernatural world as well. Energetically speaking, everything is actually one big thing--one vast beautiful, sparkling universe--and YOU are intrinsically part of it. If you are feeling alone, disconnected, anxious or afraid, perhaps it is just because you have forgotten who you are.

Manifestation is when you think of things and then they get pulled from the idea realm into this one where we can see them happening and touch them and hear them and drink them in.

In short, the things we think about become our reality, good or bad.

I recently got back f...

Want to manifest your dreams? Good! You can! But let's talk for a minute about what is really in your heart.

Go down deep.

What moves you? What bring you to tears and wrecks your heart with joy? What are you talking about when your voice gets louder and more passionate...

Having trouble finishing that inspired project you’re working on?

You have a great idea. You sit down and start working on it. You are full of energy and motivation. And then this unsettled feeling creeps in and your motivation slips away. You become distracted. You can...

Please, Mama, tell me about love?

Love is when we see the hurt, the pain, the suffering. We do not deny it. We feel it. We let it run through us and in it we see beauty. We see comfort, we see compassion, we see appreciation. We rise above the pain and we see the beauty...

The local people of Puerto Morelos say she is alive--the town, that is.

The town, or more specifically the land the town rests on, has consciousness. She knows you are there the moment you set foot within her boundaries and she can feel your intentions toward her. She...

Did you know you get to decide what you want to be when you grow up several times during your life?

Well, really as many times as you want, but there are a few mile markers. Like when you are six and, like my daughter, you want to grow up and live in the mall. Or when y...

Poverty = Lack of Money.

Ok, so let's start with this. If poverty is the lack of money, and that is generally how we think of it, then who is in poverty?

A. A person with a lovely $300,000 house with a mortgage of $250,000 and a nice new car worth $20,000 with an $18,000...

Eugenia has been helping me help those who need it most in her pueblo in Mexico. I bring donations of clothing and household items to her home and she finds the people in her village who are in need of the particular things I bring. She is such a sweet and generous per...

Tell me please: What are SECRETS OF HAPPINESS?

According to the Happy Planet Index, Costa Rica is the #1 Happiest Place on Earth! I love this quote from the study:

People living in Costa Rica have higher well being than the residents of many rich nations inclu...

One day I happened to mention to some friends here in Mexico that I wasn’t sleeping well. Right away, five or six people animatedly began offering suggestions to help me overcome my sleep deprivation.

No one suggested I purchase a better mattress or buy dark curtai...

Wouldn't it be cool if.....?

That is my new power tool, for manifesting, that is. Wouldn't it be cool if I could meet a shaman?

That's how this whole story started.

Maria and I were sitting in my living room in Puerto Morelos doing a bit of dreaming. "Wouldn't it be coo...

"Teach me about the goddess Xtabay (esh-ta-bay)."

We were riding on a taxi-bike with Jose, our Maya tour guide and valiant peddler. There were two of us riding, Maria and I, and I know Jose got his workout for the day as he transported us down jungle paths, past sacred...

I just got back from spending a month on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. It was a great trip and I found myself delving into some interesting things while I was there.

A race of tiny people called Aluxob (the singular is Alux) live in the jungles and cenotes of the Yucatan....

This is St. Jude Thaddeus. He is the patron saint of hopeless cases. Here he is in a tiny outdoor church in the mountains of rural Mexico.

The beads you see around his neck and on his staff are thank offerings for miracles the local people believe he has done.

I spoke t...
